Systems Administrator / Security Engineer

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Provide support for our client\'s WAN and LAN infrastructure, including network monitoring, security telephony and server based issues. Project work related to the network infrastructure and other systems. Respond to and resolve user requests as quickly as possible.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Resolving helpdesk calls through the call tracking system as quickly as possible.
• Proactive monitoring and resolution of server and network based issues.
• Working with our network provider to ensure problems are resolved in a timely manner.
• Placing and tracking orders for new network circuits or moves.
• Firewall administration and enforcing security policies.
• Third level support for existing applications and systems.
• Report any issues and updates to the IT Manager.
• Involvement and ability to lead IT projects. Excellent organizational, project management, communication and customer service skills. Including, time management, accountability, and administrative follow up.



QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Good knowledge of computer hardware, software, and helpdesk support, with a minimum of 4 years experience.
• Previous experience of supporting LAN/WAN and dealing with service providers.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Minimum of a diploma in a computer related discipline.



ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
• Cisco Switches/Concentrators/Routers
• Excellent knowledge of LANS / WANS/Security Principles
• Windows 2003 Server
• DNS / WINS / DHCP / TCP/IP
• Strong knowledge of Hardware maintenance (Video / network cards, RAM upgrades)
• Firewall Management
