Versicherungskaufmann/frau / Insurance Claims

Role Description:
The Job involves the assessment of Life, Serious Illness and Disability applications on behalf of the Company. The Jobholder will receive training in the risk selection process and will accept applications on the basis of medical, occupational, and financial evidence.
Responsibilities & Duties:
•
Evaluate new applications, and alterations in cover on existing policies, within tight deadlines.
•
Offer competitive terms whilst maintaining satisfactory mortality and morbidity experience.
•
Communicate underwriting decisions to brokers, agents, broker consultants, sales managers and clients in an effective and professional manner.
•
Consult with the Company’s Chief Medical Officer and Reassurers on large and/or difficult cases.
•
Assist in the sales process by providing technical support to sales intermediaries.


Necessary Qualifications / Skills:
•
An ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in a pressurised working environment is an important feature in this job.
•
A substandard sign-off authority in life & disability benefits is essential. A substandard sign off in critical illness cover would be an advantage.
•
Progress towards a professional insurance qualification would be an advantage
•
As a member of a busy team the jobholder will be required to be flexible in terms of being available to work overtime on occasion
•
Fluent German is essential
