The Role

The Bloomberg Content Indexing team is looking for an Analyst to work on the automatic classification of the world's most important financial and economic news and expand Bloomberg's brand as the leader in the financial news market.

The successful candidate will use software to create hierarchical rules that automatically organize Portuguese-language news and data from websites and other sources that run on the Bloomberg Professional Service. The Analyst will also monitor classification programs and design creative solutions for customer needs.

Qualifications

-Native-level fluency in Portuguese.
-Fluency in English.
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Bachelor of Science in Library Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Philosophy or Statistics strongly preferred.
-Experience in use of search software and engines, such as Google Advanced Search, Clusty, Wolfram Alpha, Factiva or LexisNexis.
-Solid understanding of how financial and economic news and data drives the financial markets.
-Strong communication and project-management skills.
-Experience in using or developing categorization, filtering or mining software, such as Clear Forest or SAS is preferred.
