The Role:

Bloomberg News is seeking an experienced economy and government reporter to join our expanding team in the Gulf. The successful candidate will cover breaking economic and government news, central bank monetary policies and the main statistical indicators.

They will also be expected to propose and write features that explain and illustrate the economic and political situation to a global audience. The position will involve travel to cover major events to cover ministers and central bankers. Candidates must have an understanding of economic and political issues and their relevance to corporate developments and markets.

Responsibilities include attending press briefings and evening events, monitoring other media and writing news summaries.

Qualifications:

- Journalism experience and experience covering the Middle East is preferred.
- Experience of working in a real-time news environment is desirable.
- Ability to write quickly and concisely under deadline pressure
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is desirable.
- Fluency in Arabic is essential.
