Job Title German or French speaking Translator - Physics, Chemistry or Engineering sector

Salary £30,000 + benefits (earnings up to £50,000+)

Based in Buckinghamshire, our client is an international company, specialising in translations for companies mainly from the scientific, engineering and medical sectors.

To join their translation division, they wish to recruit (to train to become a full time translators) German or French speaking Translators with an education and professional background from a Physics, Chemistry or Engineering emphasis.

Your role will include the following tasks:

* Translation of scientific Physics, Chemistry or Engineering texts from French or German INTO English
* Daily checking of forthcoming work schedules and liaison with Translation Coordinator
* Liaison with the allocation team and production team as required
* Review of each job ticket for specific translation order requirements
* Clear dictation of translations
* Drawing customer’s attention to flaws in source text
* Use of research methods to resolve queries
* Assistance to production staff as required
* Attendance at notary as necessary
* Input to Sales team as necessary
* Approval of own work after proofreading
* Checking other translators’ work when resource planning demands

To be considered for this role, you must have the following skills and background:

* English to mother tongue standard + excellent knowledge of German or French
* Be educated to University level or PhD in a Physics, Chemistry or Engineering discipline
* Have a keen eye for detail
* Have accurate language/grammar abilities
* Problem solving ability and an ability/desire to work as an individual, but as part of the wider translation team

An education or background in translation is not necessary as full training will be given! It is essential that you have a professional understanding of the physics-engineering sector and would like to have a new career in translation

On offer is a salary of up to £30,000. The company also offer a very generous completed translation bonus scheme which could see you salary increase by 100%.
