Our client, based in Buckinghamshire (20 minutes north west of London), is a world leading company. Working with a variety of industry clients, they specialise in many translation areas including financial, medical, pharmaceutical, chemical and engineering.

They currently wish to recruit German speaking Translation Proofreaders to join their international translation teams.

Your position will include the following responsibilities:

* Word-by-word checking of translations prepared by technical staff from German INTO English
* Adapting existing translations to conform to new versions of documents
* General office work relating to the finishing and dispatch of translations

To be considered, you must have the following skills:

* English to mother tongue standard + fluent German. Other language skills, such as Chinese, Dutch, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish or Spanish , are an advantage but not essential
* Educated to degree/university level in a German language discipline, at least to 2:1 level or above
* An ability to work quickly and proof read from German into English

Starting salary is £18,500 + paid overtime plus pension, private medical insurance and corporate gym membership.

Opportunities to progress to trainee translator then full translator status are available.
