MIS / Reporting Analyst

Salary: €40-50K DOE

The MIS / Reporting Analyst is a key position within Energy Supply, providing expertise and analytical support to support the development of key initiatives and the analysis of results.

For this role we are looking for candidates with appropriate experience in report writing, the ability to understand the business and compile information.
Responsibilities include:
• Assist the company to assess and define key operational and management information required to drive the business
• Generate operational reporting metrics to support and improve business processes
• Develop and automate reports to provide timely and accurate information, and ad-hoc queries to support planning and analyse results
• Mentor and assist business users in the creation of reports
• Develop \"ad-hoc\" and \"on-demand\" reports for business users, providing timely and accurate information for key initiatives and metrics
• Evaluate reporting requirements on an on-going basis to identify recommend and implement agreed improvements
• Maintain concise and accurate documentation in relation to all report related requests and issues
• Communicate and present the results of analysis performed and report details
• Ensure all data provided compiles with the Data Protection Act 1998 and held, disclosed and processed lawfully
• Work closely with IT & business teams designing, improving and enhancing corporate data and information data marts
• Perform trend and variance analysis
• Identify, investigate and resolve data integrity issues
• Implement a coordinated approach to updating and refreshing data to facilitate accurate reporting
• Support key project initiatives within BGES



Qualifications/Requirements:
• In depth knowledge of relational databases - Oracle in particular
• JavaScript and front-end dashboard design experience is desirable
• Strong understanding of data warehouse, financial systems, intelligence tools and its deployment
• Experience of reporting within the Energy or Utility Industry is desirable
• High level of numeracy (spreadsheet and database analysis skills)
• Experience with at least one mainstream reporting tool e.g. Brio, Cognos, Business Objects
• Excellent understanding and experience of database design and data extraction best practices
• Excellent and proven analytical and problem solving skills
• Full life cycle implementation and methodologies experience
• Ability to absorb complex data model interactions
