Hardware Customer Service Engineer - Technical Support Team. Teleperformance, the UKs leading outsourced contact centre provider, have an exciting vacancy for a multi lingual Hardware Customer Service Engineer to join our IT Support inbound helpline we operate on behalf of a global market leading IT hardware corporation in Swindon. Starting salary £20,000.
We operate the helpline in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Turkish and English and therefore all our Customer Service Engineers speak English and at least one of these languages.
Our current vacancies require fluency only in English and German. However if you have the correct hardware skills and are fluent in any of the languages we support then please apply, as we may have further vacancies requiring French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish
The Role of a Hardware Customer Service Engineer
This is a challenging and multi-tasking role dealing with issues of varying complexity. The main job requirements are:
Providing both customer service and IT support to a broad spectrum of our Clients customers with wide ranging queries in various European languages via telephone, correspondence, email and fax
Troubleshooting, fault finding and resolving customer queries and issues. The nature of the call can vary from a Server, RAID, CPU, Desktop or Networking issue (that may require a detailed technical knowledge) to a simple query regarding where to find information on our Clients website. As the topic of the calls vary so do the types of customers making the enquiry. The team has a capacity to deal with customers of all types and all levels of computer literacy, including highly qualified technicians and novice end-users.
Due to the nature of the products supported and the rate at which they are being updated and upgraded, research on the web for any news relating to the products is an absolute must. The role encourages continuous learning and the completion of online training on products and technologies
The Selection Criteria
Fluency in English & German
The successful Hardware Customer Service Engineer must have excellent communication skills, be customer focussed, and be able to provide a polite and professional service at all times.
Previous experience of a technical helpdesk is an advantage.
You will have a well organised approach to work, the ability to multitask and demonstrate good time management skills.
Technical competence and experience
1. System architecture
a. Raid Controllers
b. Understanding BIOS Firmware and upgrades patterns/changes
2. Knowledge of Server Hardware and Software
3. Storage Units
4. System Administration Knowledge
a. Managing a server remotely and locally
b. Disaster Recovery
c. Client Deployment
d. Monitoring
e. System Integration
5. Knowledge on how to built a SRV out of the box
