Merchandise Analyst – Data Analyst – SQL Server, data warehouse
We have a great opportunity for a Merchandise Analyst – Data Analyst to join one of the largest mail order companies in the UK. The Merchandise Analyst – Data Analyst will report to the Merchandising Manager and will be responsible for the following:
Production of six monthly publication forecasts.
Constructing a seasonal publication forecasting model in agreement with the requirements Liaising with the marketing analysis manager with regard to the phasing of publication forecasts – inputting into the forecasting tool and sending fully phased forecasts prior to the start of the season.
Updating the actual demand in the publication forecasting tool on a Monday each week and sending along with a narrative describing strengths and weaknesses of the last weeks performance.
To build and maintain all reports required by the merchandise department.
To update the above reports on a weekly basis.
To produce a weekly commentary report highlighting key indicators and differences from the norm.
To call catalogue files and request budget files to set up the pricing tool for each publication.
To ensure that information is accurate and the tool is set up in time for strategy meetings before the pages start to arrive for pricing.
To perform price uploads for all publications.
The successful Merchandise Analyst – Data Analyst should have the following skills:
Ideally educated to a degree level or equivalent experience
Computer literate – Strong knowledge of Office packages
Very strong SQL/Data warehouse skills
Fluency in French would be a great advantage
Experience within a commercial environment analysing data and producing reports
Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
Ability to solve problems through use of innovative ideas and good technical understanding
